Ernie Carpenter has a Masters Degree from UC Berkeley and served on the County Planning Commission, the Board of Supervisors for 16 years,and the Civil Service Commission for 5 years. He is currently a private consultant concentrating on reuse and recycling, the environment, and government. He is active in politics, building cultural ties, and assisting low income communities. He currently serves on the recently formed countywide Tourism Board.
